true, eucharist is the new covenant that christ offered in the mass
what about relics? Kind of weird and not in scripture. Genuinely asking and not trying to start a holy war.
Baptist and catholic that are on two very different beliefs . I don’t consider baptism Christian
I was very surprised by this statement. In our country (the Czech Republic - historically Catholic, now atheist country), Catholics are leaving the Church for Protestant churches. Since I don't know why they do this or that, it is mostly purely a matter of tradition. I'm a Baptist. I think my (our) problem is certainly not telling people why we do this or that, because our reasoning is based on Scripture and we are especially able to quote where Scripture speaks of it. Christians should both believe and know what they believe and why. Like the Apostle Paul when he says: ... for I know who I hale believed... 2 Tim 1:12 I respect every serious Christian regardless of denomination. But I think everyone (not just pastor/priests) should know why they believe something, do something, think somehow

I'm an agnostic, former Roman Catholic. I tried a few other religions. If I was to go back to religion, it would definitely return to the Catholic Church. A lot of protestant churches promise a shortcut to salvation. While that concept may be appealing, being saved while you are alive gets you off the hook from continuing to do good work in the wider community. Spreading the word is a poor imitation of actually helping people. Catholics see salvation as a reward for being kind and helpful throughout your life. It's a great conversation you guys are having.
Former protestant pretender, now born again Christian... Catholicism teaches a false gospel
Many of us find Catholicism to be burdened in ritual and repetition, causing the meaning to be lost. It seems there are far more Protestants who converted from Catholicism than the reverse. I mean no disrespect to the Catholic Church! We are all followers of Jesus! I just think we need to shake off some of the ritual & get down to pure relationship. Far too many Catholics are Christian only one day a week. 😕
People don't know so what's the point? It becomes a ritual worship without meaning. So educate the public so they can participate meaningfully.❗
People don’t know these things because…??? like they said, they don’t TELL PEOPLE! They don’t TEACH people, disciple them in what THE WORD says. What a sad thing to say & it doesn’t reflect very well on the Catholic Church.
I grew up Catholic but left because I could no longer follow the idolatry, I.e. praying to Mary, & to the different saints, the statues in all Catholic Churches for people to kneel before & pray. The rituals, trying to carry on the temple commandments only without the sacrifices. Kissing the feet of an “image” of the crucified JESUS and so on. Never being challenged & told by priests or teachers to read the Scriptures for ourselves. It wasn’t until I began studying the Hebrew roots of our Christian faith that a WHOLE & beautiful understanding started happening. NOW… I know that I know that I know I am on the right path!!! And I am SO GRATEFUL to my HEAVENLY FATHER for opening my eyes to HIS TRUTH and not what the Catholic Church or ANY denomination is telling me without searching it out in the the BIBLE myself as the Bereans did when Paul went to preach the Gospel. I am grateful for my upbringing because I learned the deep sacrifice my SAVIOR made for me but beyond that there is no guidance. When I began studying THE WORD from the Hebrew perspective, my heart was SO JOYFUL, but also sad & somewhat angry, wondering WHY so much of the understanding of GOD’S MESSAGE had not been taught to me…😢 and believe me, I am not the only person I know who has felt this way!! And I’m not talking just about the Catholic Church but all mainstream denominations have fallen short in their teaching in that they have pretty much chosen to “throw out” the first two thirds of our Bible, only teaching from what is called the New Testament. There WAS NO NEW TESTAMENT in JESUS’ time or the Apostles or Paul’s time. They all taught from the understanding given in the Old Testament! JESUS taught the two on the walk to Emmaus all about HIMSELF from the Scriptures, what we call the Old Testament. If we don’t study & know the Old Testament, how do we hope to understand the things JESUS taught in the New Testament. And I simply cannot look on the pope as an infallibly leader. The history of the Catholic Church & the popes is something that I cannot put any faith in to follow any more. PRAISE BE TO YHWH, I AM, FOR ALL HE HAS DONE FOR ME!!! ✝️🙏🏻🛐🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
Former Arian, becoming Catholic!
The Priests don’t uphold Catholic dogma they pander to certain groups and do not give sinners correct guidance - in a word, today’s Priests are weak.
But John the Baptist did not do the Comunion. He died way before Jesus did the last supper
In my experience, I didn't have good spousal options for a long while. Few willing to marry before both partners have an established career, and even then few willing to wait until marriage for intimacy, and many of those not interested in several children. So I married at 31, 10 years after I was ready, and with each of my 4 kids my health is reduced and I have difficulty being consistent in my parenting due to poor health days. I'm not feeling like my goal of being a "joyful house of virtue" has been achieved. Research says Chances are high my kids will leave the faith eventually, and choose to be child-free themselves. Couples are not trying to thwart procreation. Idealism alonebreeds kids, but risks more doubt and regret if a supportive environment is not firmly established before the first kid.
Well, thank you for educating me! I’ve been a Catholic convert for over 55 years and never knew this about the holy Mass. You stated that those conducting RCIA and CCD classes do not explain these important facts, which is abundantly true. Why Father? This needs to change ASAP, as this knowledge is critical.
We Catholics are alive and being strength by the Eucharist. # Proud Catholic# Shalom 🇬🇲
The wafer does not become the actual flesh of Jesus...omg, it is a symbolism of His sacrifice...He doesn't have to die every day!!
Protestantism: God's word > Bible > Humans Catholicism: God's word > Bible > Pope > Vatican > Church > Humans Example: God: "hell is real" > Protestants believe in hell God: hell is real" > Pope: "hell isn't real" > Catholics don't believe in hell
I love this comments section ❤
Loved this ❤
Today I attended my very first Catholic Mass. I had absolutely no idea what was going on but I’m excited to learn. Protestantism just left me feeling unfulfilled. It left me feeling like church and Christ was just a thing we did for an hour or two a week. I didn’t feel devotion or Christ centeredness from any of the churches I’ve been to in the past. The tradition and ritual and worship and devotion really draws me to Catholicism. I was baptized a Catholic as an infant, I then was an agnostic for most of my life, then I became a Norse Pagan, and a little less than 3 years ago I accepted Christ as my Lord and Savior.
Blessings! First time I see a Priest with long hair! 😮
My mother was so angry when she discovered my husband and I are choosing cremation. I explained to her why we made that choice, cost, site prep… money basically. We don’t want the viewing, big dog and pony show, we just want have simple burials. We have our urns, we will be placed in the cemetery where my parents are buried. We are retired military and will have markers from the VA. Evidently this made an impression on her bc she chose to be cremated and buried next to our dad. What happens to like Mr. Scott (James Doohan) whose ashes were jettisoned into space? I saw one the other day that makes your body into mulch and give you back to your people in a bag to be spread in gardens?
Catholic Boomers educated in Catholic schools, like me, learned this in religion class. No matter who the next Pope is, we must take up again the obligation to educate our members in connecting Scripture and our teachings. I have learned to use my phone as a reference for books, chapters and verses. My Junior High Parish Religious Ed classes spent the last twenty minutes finding the Bible sources for their lesson and reading them. TV. Protestants fling the Bible in our faces to avoid taking the Church seriously.
Not really, as we believe in the church that Jesus taught
lol wait until your councils decide to alter one of those traditions
Former baptism now becoming a confirmed practicing Catholic. We were baptist until our oldest who is 18 started learning about the Catholic religion and has open my eyes to see Catholic faith is the faith we should be. So now we our becoming Catholic our youngest is 7 years old and he is so excited to learn about Jesus Christ 🙏 and the Catholic Church 😊
Where is the catholic mass in the holy scriptures ? 🤔
I love Catholicism and am so blessed to be born into the faith ✝️
Where in the Bible does it say that a priest will absolve me of my sins?
🫡🇻🇦
The charismatic movement is shocking. Dangerous, hurtful and abusive. Ask me how I know.
Can a divorced lapse Catholic, have a requiem mass said for him ,and can he get buried from the church
I suggest speaking with your pastor about this.
Jesus was Jewish not catholic.
I'm Coptic Orthodox from Egypt and Stand With you ☦️✝️♥️
Good Father's many of us are aware!
Everyone should read the bible
May you should tell people.
Amen. Catholicism takes me to the next spiritual level, the level I should have been on all along.
Jesus knocks on the door of a house and yells: "It's me, Jesus. Open the door and I will save you." Voice from behind the door: "Save us from what?". Jesus: "From what I'm going to do to you if you don't open the door."
❤😊
Wrong.
I DON'T BELIEVE SO!!! catholicism is TOTALLY missing "IT"! FALSE!!! READ GALATIANS 6:11-13!!!
evangelicalism aint any better buddy
Ratzinger surely was vampiric. Let alone nazi youth.
White collars, priestly vestments, giant statues, and relics dont do anything for you. God wants your heart, not stuff that is made from dust. God wants you to pray without ceasing and for your thoughts to be on him always. And then, after you've done that, he wants you to love your neighbor with the love that he has given you.
I promise I am not attracted to the Catholic Church. I don’t want any part of the lies you teach. I hope that you all come to Christ and ask forgiveness of your sins
The bible is not leading me to kiss statues, to believe priests must not get married, to be under the authority of tnat satanic pope, to not believe Mary and Joseph had a normal marriage and had been blessed with kids of them two after Jesus was born. It doesn't give me any reason to believe she has never sinned, has never died or has became omniscient and capable of hearing prayers of people all over the world. And so on. But the bible leads me to believe that I must pray to God only, in the name of Jesus Christ. That Jesus and the Holy Spirit are my intercessors in heaven. That every one who has been born again can rebuke the devil and cadt out demons in the name of Jesus Christ.
Raised Protestant now a devoted Catholic
Lmao, protestants are NOT attracted to any sunworship rituals of rome.
